First Annual Y Bike Fest 04.22.14

A celebration of National Bike Month with community bike rides visiting segments of the proposed Kingston “Green Line” bike path and Kingston City Parks, Bike Education Games for younger riders, maintenance and skills clinics for older kids and adults, biking info and the kick off of the Y’s “Lend a Wheel”  bike donation program.

When:                    11am – 3pm, Sunday May 4.

Who:                      Kids of all ages and adults.

Where:                   YMCA, 507 Broadway (entrance on Pine Grove Avenue).  The Green Line Bike is 5 ½ miles and the Parks Tour is 14 miles.  Both will leave and return to the Y.

How much:              Event is FREE!

5th Annual Y Bike-to-Work Energizer Breakfast 04.18.14

Fifth Annual Bike-to-Work Energizer Breakfast.

A salute to all those unsung heroes who ride their bikes to work, or who want to give it a try. Bagels, fruit, juice and coffee will help you energize your ride and day at work. Plus, experienced riders will be on hand with tips on how to make bike commuting work for you. Free bike stickers and other giveaways. Giveaways

When: 7 – 9am, Friday May 16.

Who: Bike commuters or would-be commuters.

Where: Academy Green Park, Kingston.

How much: Event is FREE!

Bike It Continues: Spring 2014 NEW Bike Camp 04.17.14

Looking for donated used and new bikes for our bike it program. Our goal is to teach every kid in Ulster County how to safely ride a bike on the roads and bike routes. Please help us make Ulster County a safe bike zone.  No children are turned away from program for not having a bike or inability to pay.  In order to do this we need your help.  If you would like to make a donation or be a sponsor please contact Tom Polk, Director of Development via:

Kingston, NY – The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County announces an award of $2,500.00 from the Henry E. Niles Foundation.  The grant will support the Y’s “Starfish Camp” for Kingston youth this summer.
