Family Family ProgramsThe staff of the kingston & Ulster County YMCA welcomes you to our family friendly programs .  During these difficult economic times we, at the Kingston YMCA, understand the value of our member’s time and dollar.  That is why we are offering value filled programs for the entire family.   As a member of the YMCA you are able to take advantage of these programs at an affordable low rate.

Super Sundays:
 
 Teen CenterOur game room for ping pong or pool is open on weekends for our members.

Family Swim Time:  Sundays from 12:00 noon – 4:00pm, bring the entire family in for lots of fun family swim.   Four lanes of swimming opened up to you and your family.  There will be plenty of room to splash about.   Pool safety flotations are provided by us as well as lots of pool toys.  Don’t miss the fun!

            Time:  Sunday 12:00noon-4:00pm

Tuesday Tumblers:

Tumble and Dance:  is a structured, yet fun program that develops your child’s flexibility, strength and confidence.  The class involves a warm up and stretch followed by “line work” that focuses on basic tumble and dance moves.   The class then divides into two groups to work on floor and balance beam skills.
            Location:  multi purpose room
            Fee:  $40 members      $80 non-members
                   Rollers:  Tues. 3:45-4:25pm (beginner level ages 4 to 6)
                   Swingers: Tues. 4:30-5:15pm (Intermediate level age 7+)
**enrollment is limited to 12 per class** 


Freedom Fridays:
           
            Kid’s Night Out:  Every 2nd & 4th Friday Night of the month the YMCA offers a Kid’s night out.  Drop off the kids from 6 -9:45pm, ages 5 to 12, and we will provide a safe and entertaining night for them while you enjoy sometime for yourself.  Featuring interactive group games, swimming, craft projects & a special movie with popcorn.  
***Members are free and can bring a guest for $15.00***
Location:  After School Room for drop-off  Teen Center for pick-up
Time:  Friday 6:00-9:45pm
SIGN UP REQUIRED-
SIGN UPS BEGIN THE MONDAY AFTER FREEDOM FRIDAYS

Fee:  $15.00 guest of member Ages:  5-12 yrs old
 
 Kid’s Zumba: Get your dancing feet ready!  Kids enjoy a Latin-based dance movement class as well as a variety of other music styles. Keeps the kids active, healthy and having fun!
  Location:  multi-purpose room
Time:  Friday 4:30-5:20pm
Fee: $20 members       $40 non-members Ages: 3-13 yrs old

Sizzlin Saturdays:

Creative Art:  The YMCA presents “You Messy Creative Artist” by Sasha Sun.            Come join Sasha for an exploration of what color is, using acrylic paint, paper, and canvas.  Learning basic color instructions such as primary, secondary and find some other colors.  Use of limited palette and mixing colors.  Each class will build on painting development through knowledge of good watercolor paper and later canvas.  How the paint moves on the paper?  Creating Images, either still life or figurative.  Cleaning off brushes and use of water to help paint move on the matter.  Artwork will have an abstraction to life but life will be the mode for images.  Children will learn how to block out an image and make colors appear more alive by contrasting and comparing opposite colors in the color wheel.  The students will learn self and group techniques.  Each painting will dry and be sent home the next session.  Work will be displayed at the YMCA at the end of the 8 week session.

            Time:  Saturday 10am – 11 am
            Fee: $40.00 members  $80.00 non-members    ages:  5-12 yr olds

Sports Shorts:  Saturday mornings from 9am – 12 noon in the lower gym we will have various drop in sports for ages 4 and up.   Come by and play a game of soccer, dodgeball, basketball, etc.  Parents are welcome to stay or go and workout!

            Time: Saturday 9am – 12noon       age: 4– 12 yrs old

YOUTH USE OF YMCA FACILITIES
There are some age restrictions on youth use of YMCA facilities.Youth ages 9 and under are only allowed in the YMCA when accompanied by an adult or when they are in a scheduled programs.Youth ages 10-14 are allowed in the building without an adult up to 8pm. After 8pm youth must be accompanied by an adult. During the summer youth 14 and under are not allowed in the YMCA before 3:00pm unless accompanied by an adult or enrolled in a program.Youth 14 and over are allowed on the track, Universal Exercise Room and the Nautilus Center. Youth 15 and over can use the Free Weight Center and Whirlpool.

Financial Assistance is available on a limited basis for all of our programs and memberships. Please ask for a Financial Aid Application at Membership Desk or call (845) 338-3810 to have one mailed to you.
