First Day of Camp- Sarah
Goldhammer -8yrs old
"Once there was a first year Catskiller coming to Seewackamano. On the bus she did not know anyone, When she got off the bus she didnt know who her counselor was. She thought it would be a horrible day. But it wasn't.
At the morning assembly they did ou-chica-waka, and she danced and danced. At lunch she picked archery fro her skill and swimming for her rec, two things she loved to do. At the afternoon assembly she got to be a dancer of the moment. Then, on the bus ride home she made two new friends.
She had a great time. She couldnt wait for the next day of camp

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Effective November 1, 2009, all financial assistance applicants interested in assistance for a YMCA program, must first submit an application for Childcare Assistance with Ulster County Department of Social Services (D.S.S.). Once an application has been submitted with D.S.S, they will process your application. Within 30 days, D.S.S. will notify you if you’ve been approved for childcare assistance for after school or camp. You will receive a written notification on their decision.
If your family has been denied assistance through D.S.S., you then will be able to apply for YMCA financial assistance. A copy of the authorization decision letter from D.S.S. will be needed before you can receive the YMCA application.
Do
not delay. Scholarships funded by the UC Youth Bureau, United
Way and the YMCA Scholarship campaign. Financial
Assistance Application (pdf)
SAFETY
Safety of the camper is a primary concern. Constant supervision,
staff certified in first aid, CPR and a full time Health Director
enables us to give maximum safety to the camper. Our waterfront
is supervised by staff certified in W.S.I. and campers use the Buddy
System while swimming in specially designated areas. Our camp is
inspected three times seasonally by the Ulster County Health Department
and is in coherence with their specifications.
