The YMCA tries to give as many children as possible the opportunity to experience Summer Camp. We do this by providing in-house scholarship, partnering with the Ulster County Youth Bureau and United Way, as well as utilizing private donations.

If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please fill out the Finanial Assistance Application, and return all necessary documentation at the time of registration. Decisions regarding financial aid will be made by June 1st. All applications are processed on a first come, first served and by need basis. Call the Camp DIrector or Registrar for more information.

Do not delay. Scholarships funded by the UC Youth Bureau, United Way and the YMCA Scholarship campaign. Financial Assistance Application (pdf)

SAFETY
Safety of the camper is a primary concern. Constant supervision, staff certified in first aid, CPR and a full time Health Director enables us to give maximum safety to the camper. Our waterfront is supervised by staff certified in W.S.I. and campers use the Buddy System while swimming in specially designated areas. Our camp is inspected three times seasonally by the Ulster County Health Department and is in coherence with their specifications.

First Day of Camp- Sarah Goldhammer -8yrs old

"Once there was a first year Catskiller coming to Seewackamano. On the bus she did not know anyone, When she got off the bus she didnt know who her counselor was. She thought it would be a horrible day. But it wasn't.

At the morning assembly they did ou-chica-waka, and she danced and danced. At lunch she picked archery for her skill and swimming for her rec, two things she loved to do. At the afternoon assembly she got to be a dancer of the moment. Then, on the bus ride home she made two new friends.

She had a great time. She couldn't wait for the next day of camp
